Don’t wear a hat
Many blame the hat for all the troubles with the hair: they are electrified from it, get dirty faster, and the scalp lacks oxygen. The styling also suffers: under the headgear, the chances of keeping it are equal to zero. In part, it is. But without a hat, hair suffers even more. A sharp temperature drop provokes a spasm of the vessels of the scalp, due to which the nutrition of the follicles is disturbed. Hair loses shine, elasticity, begins to break off.
Never go outside stasis after using a hair dryer – let the strands cool for 5-10 minutes. An alternative to a hat is a scarf: it is fashionable, warm, and styling is preserved.
Use the hair dryer on too wet hair
Never dry your hair as soon as you cross the threshold of the shower. Pat them dry with a towel and let them dry a little naturally (at least 5 minutes). Just blot, but do not wipe – wet hair is easily damaged by mechanical stress.
In the drying process, it is important to choose the correct temperature and air direction: the flows must be directed at an angle in the direction of the cuticle location.
Remember: enough warm air is for drying, hot is used only for styling.
Love tight tails
Horse Tail is a classic and very easy-to-use styling that is best forgotten in winter. Due to the strong tension in the root zone, hair weakened from a lack of vitamins can begin to fall out at the stage of active growth. The weakest “links”: temporal and marginal lines.
Go to the steam room without a hat
Winter is the time of baths and saunas (what could be better than a birch broom and linden tea in the cold?). Going for “light steam”, do not forget the special hat made of felt or wool: it will help protect your scalp from burns, and your hair from aggressive thermal effects (hydrogen bonds begin to break at 45 degrees!). A towel is not suitable for these purposes – cotton easily passes air. Hats made of synthetic fabrics are also not the best option. Felt is a good thermal insulator. Give preference to unpainted models in natural gray.
Do not use moisturizers over the entire length.
The concept of “oily hair” does not exist! Sebaceous glands are found only on the scalp – the length of the strand is dry (especially at the ends). Masks and conditioners for the tips and the root zone should be different. The composition of the products intended for the care of the scalp should not have too many oils and silicone – they create a film that disrupts metabolic processes. But in those that are applied in length, olive, coconut, almond, sea buckthorn oils are ideal ingredients for winter care.
Choose the wrong comb
In winter, due to contact with clothing, the hair is highly electrified (static electricity is detrimental to its structure). Special sprays, masks and combs will help to cope with this. For the autumn-winter period, discard plastic models (or choose those that remove them), preferring wood, ebony and ceramic (or combs with natural pile).
Wash your hair with too hot water.
Hot water perfectly removes dirt, excess sebum and other impurities from the scalp. When there is minus outside the window, I want to add a couple more degrees to keep warm. Do not do this. You need to wash your hair with water at room temperature (even if you are very cold). Hot provokes hypersecretion of the sebaceous glands. Hair gets dirty faster at the roots, becoming dull and lifeless.
Do not use conditioner after mask
After some nourishing masks, the use of an air conditioner is mandatory. Penetrating deep into the hair, the active ingredients of such products “raise” the scales. To close them, you need to create an acidic environment. Creates her air conditioning. Apply it for a few minutes, and then rinse your hair with cool water.
Do not include healthy fats in your diet
The beauty of the hair depends on external and internal factors. Dullness and fragility can be associated with a lack of healthy fats in the diet. In winter, hair especially needs Omega-3. Include more saltwater fish, avocados, and flaxseed, unrefined vegetable oils, and nuts in your diet.
Do not follow drinking regimen
With the onset of the heating season, hair loses moisture twice as fast (the reason is too dry air). External wetting is not always enough. To solve the problem, follow the drinking regime: 1.5-2 liters of water per day is a prerequisite.
